It was a busy week for our Year 6 during the last week of the summer term! On Monday, 15th July they joined our other federation Year 6 children at Xscape in Castleford to enjoy lunch and a game of tenpin bowling at the local bowling alley.
After a break of a day they attended Crucial Crew at Selby College, again with their peers across the federation. This annual event was hosted by North Yorkshire Police with visitors from a range of agencies in attendance to give advise to the children, as follows:-
- Inspire Youth - Identifying the dangers fo drug taking.
- Northern Powergrid - Dangers of electricity pylons and sub-stations.
- British Transport Police - Dangers of the railways, exploitation risks.
- NYP - Online Safety.
- Livinig Well - Dangers of vaping.
- NYCC - Antisocial behaviour.
The children were also provided with acces to the online Crucial Crew Game. Please click on the link below: -

Finally, on Thursday morning we invited parents and family members to a Leavers' assembly to celebrate their Barlow school journeys and to wish them the best of luck on the next step of their educational journeys at high school. Goodbye and good luck to Laura, Bailey, Sophie, Henry, Sofia and Mia. Thank you to our Year 6 parents for sending your photos and memories of your child's Barlow school journey and to Mrs Dodds who represented the BPASA to present the children with the traditional Leavers' Bears and goody bags which was kindly funded by them.
We hope that you will enjoy the gallery photos which give a flavour of this special week.
