Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday, 8th February all of our classes participated in Safer Internet Day with our class resources provided by National Online Safety. If you haven’t yet visited our school website Online Safety page, please click on the link below.

 In class 2 the children watched an online workshop which explored the benefits and potential pitfalls of life in an online world. The children then had a lively discussion and came up with their own strategies to keep themselves and others safe online.

In Class 3 we have been exploring the ‘Interland’ game which is a fun way of learning about online safety and other . Why not try it out by following the link below?  Interland is an adventure-packed online game that puts the key lessons of digital citizenship and safety into hands-on practice. The children in Class 3 also took part in an interactive lesson about online relationships and how children can keep themselves safe online when using messaging apps or messaging through games. The children had the opportunity to discuss what they thought they should do in different situations that may arise when they were messaging online including:-

• how to activate privacy settings

• what you should do if you get a friend request from a stranger

• how to block and report unacceptable behaviour
