Remembrance Day

On Friday, 11th November we took time as a school to reflect on Remembrance Day and paid tribute to those members of the Armed Forces who have lost their lives on active service from the First World War until the present day, including the contribution of civilian services and innocent civilians who have lost their lives in conflict and acts of terrorism.  The children in Class 1 paid tribute with a two-minute’s silence in their classroom, whilst Classes 2 and 3 joined their teachers on the playground and paid a respectful two-minute’s silence. At the end of the silence, Mr Batty from the NYCC Music Service gave a live trumpet rendition of The Last Post.

Thank you for all of your contributions to the Royal British Legion, Poppy Appeal which raised a fantastic £134.60 in cash and ParentPay donations.

A special thank you goes to Amelia H and Mia Sh in Class 3 who volunteered to sell and distribute the Royal British Legion products.  They ensured all of the children were lined up in an orderly manner and were very proud of how much we raised as a school and couldn’t wait to visit each class to give them the news.
