Class 1 have been discussing ‘the people that help us’ and invited the local Fire Brigade in to show the children around their fire engine. They also allowed the children examine the equipment that they use to help people who have house or car fires and the equipment that they use to free people trapped in car accidents. The weather was appalling when the firemen visited and the children were wet through when they arrived back in class. However, this didn’t dampen their spirits and they all agreed that the visit was well worth it.
