Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is very important to our school, so that we can all mark a fitting tribute to everybody who has and does serve in the armed forces for our country and for the families who throughout the world who are currently affected by conflict.

To mark the occasion the children in Class 1 made special poppy cookies with Mrs Smith and also contributed towards the making of some beautiful poppy wreaths in collaboration with the children in Class 2 and 3.  On Friday morning just before 11.00am the whole school assembled outside to read poems and to lay wreaths, ending with everyone paying their silent respects, whilst listening to The Last Post.  The photos below show our fitting tribute, including the poem which Maria in Class 1 wrote herself and read out confidently, in front of the school during the service.  A total of £41.50 was raised via ParentPay for the sale of poppies, plus other cash donations in the collection box.
