Archaeologist

Recently, our KS2 children had the pleasure of welcoming Dr Steph Piper into their classes from the University of York.  Dr Piper visited our federation schools, after literally stepping off a plane from Lebanon on an archaeological dig!  Dr Piper talked to our children about archaeology and all the places that she has worked and visited, whilst doing the job that she is very passionate about.

Georgia, Year 4 said “Dr Piper told us how she dug up old objects that were buried in the ground. She told us she went to a mountain in Spain, and she let us hold the items she found.”

Henry, Year 3 reported “When Dr Piper went up the mountain in Spain, she found an old spoon and tools such as a trowel. She showed us the oldest one, which she still uses to dig. She told us that the items she finds sometimes go on displays in museums.”
