Pre-owned Christmas Jumper Sale

We started Christmas 2022 with a pre-owned Christmas jumper sale which was a fantastic idea but didn't really take off as well as expected but if we don't try we won't know!  However, £9.50 was still raised for The School Council to spend on playtime resources.

The Big Little Nativity

Our KS1 production was a complete sell-out and it was standing-room only for the afternoon and evening performances!  It is the first time that our children have performed to a 'live' audience since the pandemic and they did so with gusto.  Please visit our attached photo gallery to see some of the photos.  Many thanks to Miss Nunn and the Class 1 team for their excellent coaching of the children, culminating in the most wonderful performance of The Big Little Nativity.

Christmas Jumper Day for Save the Children

Everyone looked splendid in their Christmas jumpers whilst raising £42 for Save the Children.  The children wore their jumpers again for the day when we enjoyed our Christmas dinner the following week, so that they got as much wear as possible out of them.

Christmas Jumper Design Competition

Mrs Alnajjar had a bumper number of entries for this competition and thanked every child who took part.  The winners gratefully accepted their prizes in assembly, as can be seen in the photo gallery with Mr Grassam, our esteemed volunteer who judged the competition.  Our winners were Mary and Henry (Class 3), Heidi and Poppy (Class 2) and Blake and Alivia (Class 1).

Christmas Film Night

Mrs Parris and Mrs Alnajjar invited our children to a special showing of Arthur Christmas to have a  relaxing night.  We had a bumper audience of 28 children, who were joined by Kids' Corner to enjoy a a hot dog, Christmas treat and squash.

Christingle

All of our children made Christingles which consist of an orange representing Christ and a candle representing Jesus Christ, as a Light of the World.  A red ribbon is wrapped around the orange, representing the blood of Christ and dried fruits and sweets are skewered on with cocktail sticks, representing the fruits of the earth and the four seasons.  Please see the photos in the gallery showing some of our Class 1 children with their beautiful Christingles.

Christmas Dinner

Most of our children and 16 staff and visitors enjoyed our traditional Christmas dinner which Mrs Halliday expertly prepared for us.  The children made their own Christmas place-mats and pulled crackers together whilst enjoying the lovely food that we all appreciatively received.  Please see some of the photos in the attached gallery.

Federation Christmas Service at St Wilfrid's Church

Our KS2 children joined the other KS2 children across our federation at St Wilfrid's Church in Brayton to enjoy a Christmas Service, led by Rev Pete.  Rev Pete gave his usual lively service and the children sang their hearts out with the acoustics being fantastic, according to Mr Bringloe, our federation Music Teacher.

Our Christmas festivities finished with a bang with the Class parties on the final day of term, whereby the children and staff played games, danced to music and ate a selection of snacks.  We hope that you enjoy our snapshot of Christmas in this article and enjoy the photos in the gallery.

Thank you to all of our parents, carers and wider family and community for your continued support to our staff and children and we look forward to seeing you all again, after a hard-earned break on the 4th January 2023.
