SchoolCycled is an initiative by MYGroup, designed to educate the next generation about recycling, ecosystems and sustainability. Their hard-to-recycle processes are at the forefront of innovation. Ultimately, we need our children to become environmentalists, activists and scientists with the ability to create solutions to our pollutions issues.
Our families are encouraged to collect plastic bottle caps and send them into school. For every 1 kilo of bottle caps sent back to MYGroup we earn 250 Earth Tokens. Those tokens can be exchanged for furniture, play equipment, signage or other recycled plastic products from MYGroup. MYGroup shred the mixed plastics and make them into 100% recycled boards that are transformed into products.
Thank you for all of your hard work that you have put into recycling your bottle tops. We are delighted to let you know that you have collected a total of 41.8 kg (as at February 2023) since we have started with the SchoolCycled scheme and our earth token balance is now 10,295.
As you can see from the chart below there is a wide range of products which can be ours if we collect enough bottle tops. The children from our School Council have voted to collect enough plastic bottle tops (no metal tops or flat container lids please) to earn a Mud Kitchen (highlighted below) for Early Years. Please continue with your enthusiastic collecting to enable us to reach our target.
