For the past few years, the Government has provided funding to primary schools in order to improve the provision of physical education and sport. All state-maintained schools, academies, middle schools, special schools and pupil referral units which have primary aged pupils receive the funding.

This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision for PE and sport in schools. We are held accountable for how we use the additional funding to support pupil progress and participation in PE and school sport. We are required to publish on-line information about how we have used the additional funding, including details about our sporting provision alongside curriculum details.

All schools with 17 or more primary-aged pupils receive a lump sum of £8000 plus a premium of £5 per pupil. Smaller schools receive £500 per pupil.

For the academic year September 2018 to July 2019, we received £16,315 and the reports below show how we have spent this allocation to improve the provision of physical education, sport and active play in our school.

For the academic year September 2019 to July 2020, we will receive £16,550  and the information below details how we plan to spend this.
